Gennaro Tornatore has been Commander of Istituto Superiore Antincendi since September 2018. He graduated in Architecture in La Sapienza University of Rome and he has held critical roles, including that of Commander at the Provincial Command of the Modena Fire Department, Commander of the Viterbo Fire Department, and Regional Director in charge of the Regional Civil Protection Agency. Moreover, he has been coordinating several volunteer associations and has carried out projects like Matilda Project: Project of the European Civil Protection Mechanism” and the Implementation of the European Unified Emergency Number (112N.U.E.) in the Lazio Region. He was an active member of several Commissions and Committees regarding risks prevention, fire prevention and emergency planning in the provincial area. Furthermore, he was Head of the External Communication Office of the Fire Department, Public Rescue and Civil Defense Department.
