Nadia Macha-Bizoumi is an Asst Professor of Folklore in the Dept of History and Ethnology at Democritus University of Thrace. She holds a postgraduate degree in Museology from the Hellenic American College, Athens. Her research explores the political dimensions of traditional and modern clothing, museum collection curation and management, and the interdisciplinary study of material culture in popular traditions. Has published monographs, articles, and exhibition catalogues, and presented papers at international conferences across Europe and beyond. A founding member of the Hellenic Society of Costume Studies, she is active in several professional bodies, including the Hellenic Folklore Society, the Association of Dress Historians, and ICOM. She serves as Greece’s National Representative at the European Museum Academy, sits on the Regional Advisory Committee of the Global Council for Anthropological Linguistics, and is a board member of both the Folklife & Ethnological Museum of Macedonia-Thrace and the Basil Papantoniou Foundation.
