Ifigeneia Vamvakidou, graduated from the Philosophical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the Department of Philosophy and Pedagogy (1985). Holds a Master Degree of the same Department specialized in Philosophy of History (1991) and a PhD of the Pedagogic Faculty of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Modern Greek History and Culture (1998). She is teaching at the University of Western Macedonia since 2002, lessons of History and Visual Culture. Also, she is member of the steering board of the Fine and Applied Arts Faculty and teaches Modern Greek Art History and Semiotics. She is coordinating the postgraduate program in Cultural Studies: Semiotic Structures and Practices of the University of Western Macedonia. Since 2013, she is the Head of the Department of Preschool Education of the University of Western Macedonia. She has written four books and around 100 scientific articles about Modern Greek history, historic studies, cultural studies, modern methodology in social research and semiotics.
