Gabriella Bosco
Gabriella Bosco was born in Ivrea, Italy, in 1973. She received the Degree in Telecommunication Engineering in 1998 (thesis on the non-linear effect of the propagation in WDM optical systems) and the PhD in Electronic and Communication Engineering in 2002 (thesis on the performance analysis of optical communication systems), both from Politecnico di Torino, Italy. In 2000 she was a visiting researcher at University of California at Santa Barbara in the research group directed by Prof. Blumenthal, working on performance monitoring technique for optical systems. From 1998 to 2011, she held a post-doctoral position in the OptCom group at Politecnico di Torino. She is currently an assistant professor in the Optical Communication Group (OCG) at Politecnico di Torino. Her main research interests are focused on performance analysis and design of optical transmission systems and the application of digital signal processing techniques in optical links. Gabriella Bosco has a long experience in EU projects as a researcher. From 2004, she has actively participated in several projects funded by the European Commission, among which: E-Photon/One (NoE in FP6, 2002-2005), E-Photon/One (NoE in FP6, 2005-2008), Nobel2 (STREP in FP6 , 2005-2008), BONE (NoE in FP7, 2008-2011), and Euro-FOS (NoE in FP7, 2008-2012). She has worked in research projects funded by several companies (among which Huawei, Cisco, Telecom Italia, ESA). She has co-authored more than 130 papers in leading journals/conferences and has an h-index=19 on Scopus. She currently serves in the TPC of two major international conferences: OFC and CLEO . She is Associate Editor for IEEE Journal and Lightwave Technology for the “Systems/subsystems” sub-category.
