Francesco Finazzi
Francesco Finazzi is a researcher at the Dept. of Management, Information and Production Engineering, Italy, where he is currently working on the European research project Gap Analysis for Integrated Atmospheric ECV CLImate Monitoring. In October 2009, he received his Ph.D. in Applied Statistics at the Department of Quantitative Methods, University of Milan-Bicocca, with a thesis on Statistical modelling in image analysis for the extraction of geometrical shapes. He received his Ms.C. degree in Computer Engineering at the University of Bergamo in September 2005, with a thesis on Statistical models and experimental methodologies for uncertainty estimation in object localization through artificial vision systems. He has been holding academic activities since March 2006, with reference to the courses of Statistics and Stochastic Models. His research interests are in space-time stochastic models, geostatistics, environmetrics, image analysis, artificial vision, parallel and distributed computing. He is member of the Italian Statistical Society (SIS), of the International Environmental Society (TIES), of the International Society for Business and Industrial Statistics (ISBIS) and of the Research Group for Statistical Applications to Environmental Problems (GRASPA).
