Michael Lupo
Michael Lupo holds Bachelor of Arts degrees from The George Washington University and Brooklyn College, and a Master's Degree from Brooklyn College. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in musicology at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY), specializing in avant-garde musical production in postwar Italy, as well as British alternative rock. His dissertation inspects potential social functions of Luigi Nono’s late electroacoustic compositions. Additionally, Lupo is an Adjunct Lecturer at Brooklyn College and the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, where he teaches courses on Piano, American popular music, Western art music history, and music theory. He also is a percussionist for the NYC-based contemporary music ensemble, The Curiosity Cabinet.
As an Assistant Editor at RILM, Lupo deals mostly with the accession of Italian and English records from a wide variety of disciplines. In his free time, he enjoys reading, bowling, and watching ice hockey.
