Frank Reiner is responsible for the day-to-day-operations of CI, high-level representation of the Institute to government, industry and nongovernmental organizations, outreach and communications with member companies and their personnel, and above all, ensuring the fulfillment CI’s crucial safety and security mission. In these capacities, this 30-year industry and transportation engineering leader actively works with other chemical industry, transportation and safety organizations and government agencies. Among others, these include: the Association of American Railroads and its Tank Car Committee, several U.S. government agencies including the Departments of Transportation and Homeland Security, the American Chemistry Council, and the International Centre for Chemical Safety and Security. Frank is a longtime member and current Chairman of the National TRANSCAER® Task Group. He earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology, and his M.S. in Management from Purdue University Calumet.
