Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eriona Shtembari is a highly accomplished academic and practitioner with over 15 years of experience in academia, research, and donor-funded projects (including USAID, World Bank, and GIZ). Her academic excellence was recognized in 2007 when she was selected as an Erasmus Mundus Scholar—one of only 25 recipients worldwide from over 2,000 applicants. In 2014, she earned her PhD in Management from the University of Rome Tor Vergata (Italy), where she was awarded the only scholarship for international students.
Currently, Assoc. Prof.Dr. Shtembari serves as University Department Head at the University of New York Tirana in collaboration with SUNY Empire State University (USA, and as Program Evaluation and Quality Assurance Expert at ASCAL (Albanian Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education).
Her expertise spans HR and digitalization, project management, and soft skills, with a strong publication record in Scopus and Web of Science-indexed journals as an author, editor, and reviewer. Her professional expertise extends to business consulting, policy evaluation, and economic analyses, with roles such as Ambassador of the RM Roadmap for Albania (EARMA) and consultant for Hydrowater Albania. A sought-after speaker, she has co-chaired international conferences, including the 2 nd and the 3 rd Conference in Business Research & Management (BRM), and has served as invited speaker to discuss R&I evaluation systems at events like the REvaluation Conference 2024 (Vienna), the largest conference in Europe dedicated to research, technology and innovation policy evaluation. Fluent in Albanian, English, Italian, and German, she combines academic rigor with practical insights to drive sustainable development in education and industry.
