Maria Principe received the Bachelor Degree in Telecom Engineering cum laude and honorable mention in 2004 and the Master Degree in Telecom Engineering cum laude and honorable mention in 2006 from the University of Sannio.
In 2005 she attained a three-months /Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship/ (SURF) at CALTECH in Pasadena (CA, USA).
In 2006 she earned an INFN (/Italian National Institute of Nuclear Physics/) fellowship at Legnaro National Laboratory in Legnaro (PD, Italy).
In 2009/10 she spent six months as a Visiting Student Researcher at University of Texas (TX, USA) supported by a /Fulbright/ fellowship.
In July 2010 M. Principe received the PhD degree from University of Sannio in Information Engineering with the highest score.
In October 2010 she attained a one-year post-doc fellowship at University of Sannio.
In 2011-2013 she worked in the R&D division of two companies: AgustaWestland (July-September 2011), and Micron Semiconductor (September 2011-July 2013).
In November 2013 she earned a one-year post-doc fellowship at University of Sannio.
Since November 2014 she is research collaborator at CerICT (Regional Center Information Communication Technology), and since 2015 contract professor in Physics at Giustino Fortunato University.
Her main research activities focus on the study and development of optical metamaterial/metasurfaces; on the study and development of optical coatings for high precision metrology; on the study and development of network detection algorithms for unmodeled gravitational wave signals. She collaborates at research activities of the waves and optoelectronic groups at University of Sannio.
She is author of 106 papers in international Journals, two book chapters, and several technical reports and works presented at national and international conferences.
