Silvana Ballnat è nata a Skopje, in Macedonia. Laureatasi in filosofia presso l’università della città natale, ha ottenuto un PhD all’Università di Potsdam, in Germania. Le sue ricerche e i suoi interessi si concentrano su ermeneutica, filosofia del linguaggio, filosofia tedesca del XIX e XX secolo. Presta servizio come autrice e lettrice in diverse istituzioni.
Silvana Ballnat, PhD at the University of Potsdam, was born in Skopje. She studied and worked in different universities and other institutions in Macedonia and Germany (Institute for Philosophy, Skopje; University of Potsdam, Macedonian Academy for Sciences and Arts; American University, Skopje; Goethe Institute, Konrad-Adenauer Foundation etc.). Her research areas include 19th and 20th century German philosophy, in particular hermeneutics, philosophy of language, epistemology and methodology of scientific research. Her main publications are: Das Verhältnis zwischen den Begriffen ‘Erfahrung’ und ‘Sprache’ ausgehend von Hans-Georg Gadamers Wahrheit und Methode (2012); Мислење, јазик, свет (2013); “Principle of Charitiy und der Vorgriff der Vollkommenheit. Davidson und Gadamer über die Bedingungen des Dialogs” (Филозофска трибина, 2014); “Was heißt es in einem Dialog zu sein?” (Europaische Nacht der Philosophie, 2014); “Experience and Truth in the Work of Gadamer” (The Experience of Truth - The Truth of Experience. Between Phenomenology and Hermeneutics, 2015). Numerous papers have appeared in different philosophical journals and anthologies in Macedonian, German and English. She is co-editor of Journal of Philosophical Inquiry, a member of advisory board of Филозофска трибина, and a junior associate fellow of The International Institute for Hermeneutics.
