Irena Lazar, archaeologist, is dean at the Faculty of Humanities, University of Primorska, Koper, SI; specialist for ancient glass, Roman archaeology, Heritage studies. She studied at the University of Ljubljana. Between 1991 and 2008 she worked as a museum curator in Regional Museum Celje. Since 2005 she is a professor at the Faculty of Humanities, teaching and mentoring at the BA, MA and PhD study programmes. Her research work extends to the field of heritage studies and promotion. She organised numerous international conferences. Currently she is working on project AS – Archaeology for all – villa maritima in Simonov zaliv, Izola (EAA Grants).
