Pierbiagio Pieri graduated in Physics from Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa in 1993. Then he graduated PhD in Psysics at the Università Alma Mater Studiorum di Bologna in 1996. He was post-doctoral fellow at the Physics Department of the Università degli Studi di Camerino. From 1999 to now he’s assistant professor at the same University. His research interests have shifted then on condensed matter physics, focusing initially on strongly-correlated magnetic systems and then on superconductivity and superfluidity. His current main research activity focuses on the BCS-BEC crossover and related problems in ultracold Fermi atoms, and on the properties of strongly-interacting Bose-Fermi mixtures.
