Maria Eugenia Parito
Maria Eugenia Parito is Researcher in Sociology of Cultural and Communication Process and Assistant Professor in Political Communication and Public Communication at the Department of “Civiltà Antiche e Moderne”, Messina University. Her research focuses on public and political communication, media performance, the newsmaking process, with special attention for Europeanization of media discourse and its impact on citizens’ perception of European integration. Her support in the project aims to highlight important sources of the European Union’s legitimacy problem: the media discourse and the institutional discourse (national and European); it is crucial to reinforce communication with European citizens, providing full and comprehensive information on the European Union and involving them in a permanent dialogue.
