Stève Bobillier is a philosopher and ethicist. After a master in Geneva, and his PhD in Paris (EHESS) about the concept of freedom and person in ethical thinking of Peter of John Olivi, he teaches Medieval Philosophy at the University of Fribourg in Switzerland. In 2017 he received a fellowship from the Swiss National Found (SNF) to develop a post-doctoral research in Rome with La Sapienza University and the Vatican Library. He obtained a fellowship from the Swiss Institute of Rome during the same period. He also is scientific consultant for the bioethics commission of the Swiss Bishops Conference (SBC). He specializes in concept of freedom and personhood during the 13th-century and he is mainly interested in the question of choice of evil and autonomy of the will.
