Manca Tekavcic Pompe is a Specialist in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Eye Surgery. In 1997, she graduated from the Medical Faculty of the University of Ljubljana and received the title of Master of Science at the Medical Faculty in 2001. In 2004, she passed her ophthalmology specialization examination, and was finally awarded the title of Doctor of Science at the medical Faculty of the University of Ljubljana in 2006. At the Ljubljana Eye Clinic she is mainly concerned with the diagnostics and the conservative as well as surgical treatment of children’s eye pathology and also with cataract surgery in adults.
Manca Tekavcic Pompe also attended additional trainings in London (Great Ormond Street Hospital, Moorfields Eye Hospital), Stockholm (St. Erik Eye Hospital), San Francisco (University of California San Francisco), Boston (Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary), Bremen (European Vitreoretinal Training School), as well as numerous expert congresses and courses. In 2014, she was appointed an assistant professor for ophthalmology at the Medical Faculty of the University of Ljubljana. She is the author and co-author of several professional articles that have been published in national and international journals, and the author of numerous non-scientific articles.
