Dr. Klerides (PhD Institute of Education, University College London) is the President of the Comparative Education Society in Europe (CESE) and co-editor of the Society’s journal European Education. He is an Associate Professor of Comparative Education at the University of Cyprus and an Adjunct Faculty Member at the Open University of Cyprus where he teaches education policy. Before joining the University of Cyprus he worked at the Institute of Education, University of London, the American University of Beirut and the European University Cyprus. He had been a consultant for the World Bank, UNESCO (Beirut) and the Ministries of Education in Cyprus and Greece. He had also been a Visiting Scholar at the Collège de France in Paris and the Georg Eckert Institute for International Textbook Research in Braunschweig, an Honorary Research Fellow of North-West University in South Africa and a Visiting Professor at the Pädagogische Hochschule Freiburg. From August 1, 2024 and until December 31, 2025, Dr. Klerides will be the President of the European Baccalaureate.
