Mateus Panizzon is a professor and researcher in Anticipatory Governance, currently working in the Graduate Program in Business Administration (PPGA) at the School of Business of the University of Caxias do Sul (UCS), as well as in the Graduate Program in Business Administration & Management (PhD and Master level).
He is a researcher at the City Living Lab (UCS), specially advancing research in the role of Living Labs for Knowledge-Based Development and the IEA Future Lab (UFRGS), advancing into anticipatory systems theory.
He holds a Postdoctoral stage from the PPGA/UFRGS in Management of Systems and Information Technology, and a Ph.D. in Business Administration – Innovation Management from PUCRS, with a research internship at the Department of Information Technology of the École de Technologie Supérieure, Université du Québec (Canada).
Panizzon is the creator of the New Product Development Ability (NPDA) Theory, for which his doctoral thesis received an Honorable Mention in the CAPES Thesis Award, and his master’s dissertation in Strategic Intelligence won the Belmiro Siqueira Award from CFA and CRA-RS.
He serves as co-leader of the Big Data, Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence for Strategic Intelligence theme within the Information Technology Management Division of ANPAD.
His research has been published in leading international journals such as Technology in Society, AI & Ethics, World Futures Review, Journal of Knowledge Management, and Journal of Engineering and Technology Management.
Panizzon is the author of several books, including Futures Literacy for Education: Foundations and Pedagogical Resources for Implementation, Pathways for Implementing the Dual Learning System in Business Education, and Ambidextrous Management Capability: Orchestrating Productivity and Innovation – Foundations and Diagnostic Tools with Generative Artificial Intelligence.
He played a key role in structuring the UCS School of Business, achieving recognition through AACSB and PRME, and led the strategic redesign of the UCS Innovation Agency.
Panizzon also coordinates the SAP University Alliance Program at UCS and is an active member of RAIES (Ethical and Safe Artificial Intelligence Network).
Also serves as the Editor of the Brazilian Journal of Management and Innovation.
Through his academic, institutional, and research work, Mateus Panizzon contributes to bridging foresight, innovation, and technology management, promoting data collaboration, anticipatory capacities, and ethical intelligence in living labs, organizations, and education.
