Carlos Augusto Pessoa Machado is an Architect and Urban Planner who specialised in Urban and Architectural Revitalisation at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (Brazil). From 1995 to 2003, he participated in many projects for the restoration of historical buildings, after working at renowned architecture firms in Belo Horizonte (Brazil). In 2003, he transferred his activities to Brasília and entered the Public Policies and Governmental Management Specialist career of the Ministry of Planning, Budget and Management. As member of this career, he worked at the Presidency of the Republic, managing public policies directed at cultural heritage. He has worked at the Brazilian Institute of National Historic and Artistic Heritage (IPHAN) for a year and he is currently the body’s General Coordinator of Information Technology, managing over 2.000 work stations throughout the country.
