Barbara Dawes teaches English at the University of Naples ‘Parthenope’. She has been an English language specialist for many years, conducting research in the field of language learning and teaching and designing materials for innovatory didactic projects. She is also a professional translator and is linguistic editor for the Journal of European Economic. Her publications include British Merchants in Naples 1820-1880, Napoli, Edizioni Scientifiche 1994, and La rivoluzione turistica: Thomas Cook ed il turismo inglese in Italia nel XIX secolo, (collana Economia e storia delle società mediterranee nr. 2), Napoli, Edizioni Scientifiche 2003.
