José Luis Hernández Huerta is professor of History of Education in the Faculty of Philosophy and Literature in University of Valladolid. He got his PhD in the University of Salamanca discussing a thesis on Celestine Freinet. His lines of research are focused on the analysis of newpapers in XX century aiming to detect the relevance of education and pedagogicaltheories; on the transition from totalitarism to democracy, and the role of universities played in it. He is editor of the journal «Espacio, Tiempo y Educación» (Spain), and editor of «Foro de Educación» (Spain). He has published books and articles on international journals in several languages. He is a member of the research group “Helmanticapaideia”, basedin the University of Salamanca.
