Rob Stones

Rob Stones is Professor of Sociology at the University of Western Sydney. He developed the approach of “strong structuration” in Structuration Theory (2005), and contributed the entry on “disembedding” to the Blackwell Encyclopedia of Globalization, edited by George Ritzer. He has combined these interests in recent work, which includes Choose and Book: A Sociological Analysis of Resistance to an Expert System (with T. Greenhalgh and D. Swinglehurst), Social Science and Medicine, 2014.
