Mogens Havsteen Jakobsen graduates in Chemistry from University of Copenhagen (Denmark) in 1987. In 1990 he got a PhD in Chemistry from the same university and, in the same year, he was assistant professor at the Department of Chemistry of the University of Copenhagen till 1995. From 2003 to 2004 he was assistant professor at the Department of Physics of Technical University of Denmark. From 2008 to now He is group leader of the Surface Engineering of the Technical University of Denmark. His research activities are tailoring surface chemistries for fundamental investigations in micro- and nanotechnology, integrating surface chemistry into micro- and nanofabrication process flow, immunochemical sensors for monitoring of water quality based on microfluidics and electrochemical detection, application development for micro- and nanomechanical sensors based on novel surface chemistries, novel detection molecules (peptides, aptamers, cyclodextrins) and microfluidics, etc. He got 36 publications in international refereed journals, 23 refereed conference proceedings, 3 book chapters, 2 other papers.
