Elia Vitturini is a PhD candidate in Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Milano–Bicocca. His research project addresses the Gaboye, a minority group living among the Somalis. He carried out the fieldwork in the town of Hargeysa, Somaliland. He collaborates with the project SWAB–Shadows of Slavery inWest Africa and Beyond, led by prof. Alice Bellagamba.
