Full Linguistics Professor at Faculdade de Letras, Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, Brazil. Received her PhD in Linguistics from the City University of New York, USA, in 1997. Her research is dedicated to the syntax, semantics and pragmatics of spoken language explored through quantitative, corpus-based methods.
