Professor at the faculty of Law of the University of Porto. Researcher of Centro de Investigação Jurídico–Económica (CIJE). Field of research: private law–tort law, contract law, family law, succession law and medical law. Corresponding member of the Cambridge Family Law Centre. Member of several international associations and research centres. Member of the editorial board of several portuguese, and international journals. Participation in many national and international conferences and several publications (in portuguese, english, spanish and italian), including three books.
