Katja Doerschner is a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the Department of General Psychology in in Justus-Liebig University (Giessen).
Her research focuses on visual perception, with the aim of understanding the mechanisms by which the brain is able to construct a clear and rich perception from an ambiguous retinal signal. In particular, she examines what kind of information the visual system uses to detect object properties and how this information is used and processed by the brain. In her work, she uses a combination of methods including psychophysics, computer graphics, pattern analysis, and imaging techniques.
