Robert McCrie is Professor of Security management at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, The City University of New York. He has visited more than 200 correctional facilities in 12 countries. He finds all of them deficient in following evidence–based practices for habilitation, yet is writing a book highlighting the five best prisons he has encountered.
