Laura Gherlone is a researcher in semiotics and literature of the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET) of Argentina. Furthermore, she is an adjunct professor of Russian Literature at the Center for Comparative Literature of the Catholic University of Argentina, Buenos Aires. During the period 2016–19, she was a postdoctoral fellow in semiotics at the Center for Language Research of the National University of Córdoba. Previously, she was a temporary research fellow in Italy. She has been visiting professor in Germany (Department of Romance Languages, Leibniz University Hannover), Mexico (National School of Anthropology and History), and Estonia (Department of Semiotics, University of Tartu). Laura Gherlone’s research addresses the interdisciplinary thought of Juri Lotman ─ with a focus on his late theoretical production ─ in relation to the spatial turn, the theory of cultural affects and the Latin Americanreflection on decoloniality, considering the migratory issue as a field of exploration. She is the author of numerous international publications.
