Mira Sartika

Dr. Mira Sartika is an author, researcher, and founder of Chakra Cultural Foundation, an institution dedicated to cultural research, cultural mapping, and policy implementation rooted in local wisdom. With more than 20 years of transdisciplinary research experience spanning economics, ancient history, and genetics, her work integrates culture and science to advance sustainable development.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management, a Master’s degree in Ancient History, and a Doctoral degree in Genetics from Bircham International University. Her scholarship bridges cultural studies and biological sciences through her pioneering framework of Cultural Genetics, which examines how cultural values are transmitted intergenerationally and influence behavior, identity formation, and social systems.

Dr. Sartika is the author of several major works, including Cultural Genetics (2018), Culture in Sustainable Development: Harmony through Differences (2018), The Map of Civilization – A Geocultural Synthesis (2015), and Peta Peradaban: Suatu Sintesa Geokultural (2018). Her publications explore civilization mapping, geocultural synthesis, and the role of culture as a driver, enabler, and enricher of sustainable life on Earth.

She serves as President of Rural Women and Youth Change Indonesia and is a Micro Trainer at Next Leaders University of NELIS, Japan. She is also Co-chair of the Program Commission of the Indonesian Society of Human Genetics (InaSHG). In addition, she acts as a peer reviewer for Primary Health Care Research & Development, published by Cambridge University Press.

Her research focuses on the intersection of culture, sustainable development, and behavioral epigenetics. In 2021, she presented a paper on the interconnection between rites of passage and behavioral epigenetics at the 12th International Extramural Scientific and Practical Conference in Ukraine. In 2022, she presented at the ICOMOS PRERICO Scientific Symposium in Bangkok under the theme “Religious Heritage: Celebrating and Conserving Places of Religious and Ritual Significance in a Global World and in Changing Climates.”

Recently, she has expanded her applied research into nutrigenomics and culturally informed health innovation, contributing to research initiatives in healthy supplements, functional foods, and beverages. She also develops Cultural Intelligence (CQ) training modules for government institutions, educators, and community leaders, and leads Sakola Indung, a women-centered educational movement strengthening maternal leadership and intergenerational cultural transmission.

Through research, publications, training, and policy advocacy, Dr. Sartika continues to promote culture as a foundational pillar of sustainable development, aligned with the global agenda articulated by the United Nations.
