Dr. Dorjana Flett (Klosi) is a full-time lecturer and Head of the Linguistics Research Group at the Department of Foreign Languages, University of Vlore “Ismail Qemali”, Albania. She holds a PhD in Linguistics (2014) and completed her postdoctoral studies in Translation and Sociolinguistics at the University of La Laguna, Tenerife, Spain, in 2023
.Her main research interests include sociolinguistics, applied and general linguistics, communication studies, gender and language, and English teaching methodology. She is the author or co-author of over 30 peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers and has presented at more than 40 national and international conferences. Her monograph on the linguistic features of youth discourse marks a key contribution to her field.
Dr. Flett has held international academic roles, including Visiting Professor at the University of Catania, Italy, and served as a member of the PhD thesis jury at the University of Madrid, Spain. She has supervised numerous undergraduate and Master’s theses and regularly contributes to thesis committees at her home institution.
She has participated in Erasmus mobility programmes and professional training at institutions such as the University of Bristol (Science Communication and Public Engagement), the University of Leicester, and the University of Birmingham (Applied Linguistics and Higher Education).
In addition to her research and teaching, Dr. Flett is an active reviewer for academic journals and networks, including ATINER, EJS, the IA Institute, and the HUM 853 Translation Studies Group at the University of Granada. She has also played a key role in organizing.
