Cristina Guccione

Cristina Guccione is associate professor of English Language and Translation at the University of Palermo, Department SEAS where she teaches English for specific purposes. Her main research interests focus on the history of English language and teaching, ESP lexicography and lexicology, translation studies and the history of economics translation. Her recent publications include:
–(2024) Eugenio Wenceslao Foulques (1852–1928) and his contribution to the development of English language studies in Italy;
–(2024) The Business of Languages in Postlethwayt’s Universal Dictionary of Trade and Commerce (1774 [1751]);
–(2023) Economics Terms from Scotland to Italy: the First Italian Translations of Smith’s Wealth of Nations (1790/91–1851);
–(2022) Migration Discourse and the New Socially Constructed Meanings of the English Lingua Franca;
–(2020) Fascist Terminology in English Lexicography: Considerations from the Merriam-Webster Unabridged and the Oxford English Dictionary.
