Richard Pearson is Professor of Victorian Literature and teaches at the National University of Ireland, Galway. His publications include W. M. Thackeray and the Mediated Text (2000), The Victorians and the Ancient World (2006), and a major on-line resource, Lacy's Acting Edition of Victorian Plays (2005-8) at http://victorian.worc.ac.uk. He is currently working on a book on Victorian Writers and the Drama: Authors as Playwrights from Dickens to Hardy.
