RUSSELL ELLIOTT MURPHY is a Professor of English at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. A published novelistand a co-author/editor of the textbook Structure and Meaning, since 1987 he has been the editor of the Yeats Eliot Review. His own scholarship has focused on Yeats’s Byzantium poetry and A Vision, as well as on T. S. Eliot’s The Waste Land, on which he has published widely. He has also published articles on Gerard Manley Hopkins and other Modernist figures, and has been, since 1994, the founding director of the St. Charles Borromeo Conference on Catholicism in Literature.
