Marcelline Block was educated at Harvard and Princeton. She is the editor of World Film Locations: Paris (Intellect, 2011), World Film Locations: Las Vegas (Intellect, 2012), World Film Locations: Prague (Intellect, 2013), World Film Locations: Boston (Intellect, 2014), World Film Locations: Marseilles (Intellect, 2013) and its French translation, Filmer Marseille (Presses universitaires de Provence, 2013) in addition to Situating the Feminist Gaze and Spectatorship in Postwar Cinema (Cambridge Scholars Publishing, 2008; 2nd edn 2010), which was translated into Italian as Sguardo e pubblico femminista nel cinema del dopoguerra (Aracne editrice, 2012). She is also the co- editor of The Directory of World Cinema: Belgium (Intellect, 2014); Unequal before Death (Cambridge Scholars Publishing, 2012), and Volume 18 of Critical Matrix: The Princeton Journal of Women, Gender, and Culture. Her articles and book chapters about film, literature and visual art have appeared in English, Chinese, French, Italian and Russian. She lectured about Paris in Cinema at 92Y TriBeCa, New York City and has taught at Princeton University and in New York City.
