Natalia Novikova

Natalia Novikova is an Assistant Professor at the Department of History, Yaroslavl State PedagogicalUniversity, Yaroslavl, Russia where she also completed her PhD in Modern History.
She is particularly interested in the proposed topic because it is the most relevant to her experienceas educator: together with core courses on modern history of Europe and USA, she has beenteaching various courses on women’s history and gender for about ten years, so she has accumulated some knowledge and observations which she is ready to analytically reflect upon and share with others.
Her research and pedagogical competence also allows her to put the issue into a wider international context and ask questions about relevance of western models for Russian circumstances.
