Andrea Gaglione received the Ph.D. degree in Computer and Control Systems Engineering in December 2009 from the University of Naples Federico II, advised by Prof. Nicola Mazzocca and Prof. Antonino Mazzeo. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees (both summa cum laude) in Computer Engineering from the Second University of Naples, in 2004 and 2006 respectively. In 2008-2009 he visited the Networked Systems Laboratory headed by Prof. Ramesh Govindan at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, USA.
Research interests (during the Ph.D.): networked embedded systems, including integration and interoperability of heterogeneous sensing systems, and security in wireless sensor networks; critical infrastructure protection, including composite event detection and quantitative risk management. He was a teaching assistant for the courses held by Prof. Nicola Mazzocca and Prof. Antonino Mazzeo at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Naples Federico II. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the ESRA TC on Operational Safety and Security of Interconnected Critical Infrastructures.
