Professoressa di I Fascia presso l’Università degli Studi di Firenze, nell’area di Finanza Aziendale. Ha esperienze di studio ericerca internazionali, tra cui: Harvard Business School (Boston, USA), Birkbeck College University (London, UK); Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (New York, USA), York University (Toronto, Canada). È autrice di numerose pubblicazioni internazionali relative al finanziamento dell’innovazione, Venture Capital, Leveraged Buyout e Private Equity. Collabora come Referee all’interno di prestigiose riviste internazionali di classe A in materia ed è attualmente inserita in vari progetti di ricerca internazionali su: Gender Diversity, Private Equity, Impact Investing, Venture Philanthropy, innovazione sociale e valutazione di impatto.Simona Zambelli is Associate Professor of Financial Intermediation at University of Bologna (School of Economics). She got a degree in Economics with a legal specialization from University of Bologna, and a postgraduate degree in Finance from University of London, Birkbeck College (London). She received a Ph.D. in Economics of Financial Intermediaries from the University of Siena (Italy). Thereafter, she worked as post-doctoral researcher at Harvard University – Harvard Business School (Cambridge, MA), and she was post-doc visiting student at Massachussets Institute of Technology (MIT). She also worked as visiting researcher at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute – RPI – (NY, USA) and, as visiting professor, at York University -Schulich School of Business (Toronto, CA). She is currently engaged in various research projects with York University (Toronto, Canada) and Leicester Universtiy (Leicester, UK), as well as in a number of international exchange programs with University of London- Westminster University (London, UK). Her main research interests refer to Venture Capital and Private Equity Financing, Regulation, Corporate Governance, and Philanthropic Venture Capital, with a Law & Finance perspective. Her international research cooperation includes various venture capital projects with prof. Douglas Cumming (York University, CA). She has written several international publications on: Private Equity Financing, Leveraged Acquisitions, and Corporate Governance in Private Equity.
