Abigael Ogada-Osir is an Australian lawyer who practices in a community legal centre in Melbourne. She is also a researcher at the International University College of Turin. She holds a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Laws (Hons) Diploma in Modern Languages from the University of Melbourne, a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from College of Law (Victoria) and a Master of Law, Economics and Finance (LLM) from the International University College of Turin, where she was a student of the 2011/2012 Human Rights and Migration Law Clinic. Previously, she was employed for four years at an Australian community legal centre as a volunteer coordinator (2006-2009) and then as a graduate lawyer/articled clerk (2010-2011) working on Legal Aid criminal defence cases, crimes compensation applications for victims of sexual assault and law reform advocacy. In 2009 she spent five months as an AUSAID sponsored Australian Youth Ambassador for Development in Timor-Leste with the Living Memory Project, a grass roots Timorese NGO composed principally of ex-political prisoners who are creating an historical human rights video archive and education resource that documents the oral histories of ex-political prisoners who were detained during the Indonesian occupation of Timor-Leste from 1975 to 1999.
