María Matesanz del Barrio is a lecturer in the Department of Romance Philology, Slavic Philology and General Linguistics at the Philology Faculty in Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain). She is the Academic Secretary at Department and director of the LALINGAP Research Group at UCM. She was lexicographer at the Spanish Royal Academy (RAE) for the 22nd and 23nd edition of Diccionario de la Lengua Española (DRAE). Her research interests are in three main areas: Second Language Acquisition (SLA), in particular lexical acquisition in second language; lexicology and terminography (specialised dictionaries in internet) and digital platforms for languages learning.
