Dr. Cristina Zanotti is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Civil Engineering Department of the University of British Columbia, where she works with the Materials Group, researching “Structural Repair and Rehabilitation”. Cristina earned a PhD degree in “Structural Rehabilitation and Maintenance of Ancient and Modern Buildings” and a MASc degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Brescia. Cristina’s research is aimed at enhancing performance and durability of repairs (with a focus on bond and compatibility optimization), and developing sustainable construction technologies and materials. Her research interests also include Fracture Mechanics of cementitious materials and interfaces, risk of shrinkage and thermal cracking, and phased nonlinear structural and heat transfer analysis techniques.
