Selena Bagnara Milan
Selena Bagnara Milan is a registered Architect and an Architectural Conservator. Originally from Italy, she graduated from the University of Architecture of Venice (IUAV, Italy) in 2002 and 2005, earning a Master of Architecture Degree (M.Arch), a Bachelor & Master of Science degree (Summa Cum Laude) in Historic Preservation and Conservation; she also completed a Post-Lauream Specialization in Local Participatory Action and Sustainable Urban Development in 2004.She has worked for several years for the Italian Government as a civil servant in the Public and Eminent Domain sector. In this position, she acted as the Provincial Government of Vicenza representative in the development of the Management Plan for the UNESCO World Heritage site “City of Vicenza and the Palladian Villas of the Veneto”. Her professional work includes national, regional and local clients. Currently, she is attending an international Master and Doctoral Study programme in Economics and Techniques for the Conservation of the Architectural and Environmental Heritage, jointly established by University IUAV of Venice and University of Nova Gorica. Her research interests include cultural heritage management and interpretation, scientific and cultural aspects of “green” retrofitting historic and existing buildings, and Palladian studies. She is a guest lecturer for cultural institutions in the fields of sustainable historic preservation and cultural resources management, an AIA International Associate and a member of the Italian Art Society.
