Dr. Mitzi Waltz is an autism and disability consultant, trainer and writer, based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. She was previously Senior Lecturer in Autism Studies at The Autism Centre, Sheffield Hallam University, following five years as a Lecturer in Autism with the Autism Centre for Education and Research (ACER), University of Birmingham. Dr. Waltz has contributed to many key pieces of autism research and resources, including the Department of Children Schools andFamilies Inclusion Development Programmes for teachers working with children and young people with autism in England. She has written ten books, the most recent of which is Autism: A Social and Medical History (2013, Palgrave Macmillan).
