Penina Pearl Rybak, MA/CCC-SLP, TSHH, Founder/CEO Socially Speaking LLC, is an Educational Technology Consultant and an Autism Specialist. She is also a practicing, pediatric speech-language pathologist who earned her master’s degree from New York University. She has been practicing for two decades, and has provided treatment to young children with Autism/special needs, in home-based early intervention, center-based preschool intervention, self- contained school-age classrooms, and private practice. Penina created The Socially Speaking™ Social Communication Curriculum for Young Children with Autism and Special Needs in 20o9 and deployed her Socially Speaking™ Social Skills Assessment Protocol iPad App to iTunes in 2012. Her business book, The NICE Reboot: A Guide to Becoming a Better Female Entrepreneur-How to Balance Your Humanity and Technology in Today’s Startup Culture was published in 2014 by Maven House Press. Penina has lectured nationally and internationally since 2009, on customizing social communication strategies, the developmental integration of iPad Apps into treatment of Autism/special needs, early childhood play based assessment and intervention, and mobile and social technology productivity Apps for the modern workflow. As a 21st century clinician, entrepreneur, and iPad Evangelist, Penina advocates the use of an eclectic, multi-sensory treatment approach, using customized workflows and lesson plans involving toys and tech.
