Mr Hilal has worked as a consultant general surgeon for University Hospital Southampton since October 2006.
His experience includes three years as a surgical resident in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery (Italy), two years as a surgical registrar hepatobiliary-pancreatic surgery (UK), and a one year fellowship in hepatobiliary and transplant surgery in the UK.
