Graduated in Political sciences and international relations and in Institutional communication, Marco Marsili holds a PhD in History, Studies of security and defense from the ISCTE – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (ISCTE-IUL), where he is researcher at CEI-IUL - Centre for International Studies, as well at the Centro de Investigação, Inovação e Desenvolvimento da Academia Militar (CINAMIL), the Portuguese Military Academy/Poruguese Army Research Center. He focuses his research on the impact of counter-terrorism measures on fundamental human rights and on the unconventional conflicts. Electoral observer for OSCE/ODIHR, wrote and published 12 books and has several publications in academic journals. In 2016 he has been awarded with the ISCTE-IUL Scientific Award.
