Christian G. De Vito (1976) graduated in History at the University of Florence (2000) with a dissertation on the social history of the Italian prison system (1943-1986). In 2008 he obtained his PhD in Contemporary History at the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa and later worked on various post-PhD research projects. He is honorary fellow at the International Institute of Social History (IISG), member of the editorial board of the International Social History Association (ISHA) newsletter, member of the board of the “Società Italiana di Storia del Lavoro (SISLAV)”, member of the association “Storie in Movimento”. He is active in social movements and groups for the promotion of social and civil rights.
