Peter Volek has studied Catholic Theology at the Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia, before taking an M.A. and PhD. in Philosophy at the University of Innsbruck, Austria. He has been Associate Professor of Philosophy at the Comenius University in Bratislava, and is currently Professor of Philosophy at the Catholic University in Ružomberok, Slovakia. He is the author of five books and several articles on Edith Stein, Thomas Aquinas, Rajmund Lullus, bioethics, philosophy of mind, philosophy of religion.
