Jelena Živković

Jelena Zivkovic is an associate professor in urbanism at the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Architecture.
She received her PhD, MSc and M.Arch. degrees in Architecture and Urbanism at the same University. She is also a visiting professor at the University of Niš – Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture and a co-Director of the international multidisciplinary program – Public Art & Public Space.
Her research interests, teaching responsibilities and work in practice include: urban design theory and practice, open space and public art planning and design, recreation and tourism planning.
Her current work focuses on the role of leisure, culture, sport and tourism in urban regeneration, and on function and meaning of urban open spaces in climate resilient urban development.
She is the co-author of the book Public Art and Placemaking: case study – Belgrade, City municipality Stari Grad (2008, with Z.Đukanović) and the co-editor of publications:
– Città, Fiumi, Margini Fluviali – Roma Belgrado (2008, with Z.Đukanović & R. Cherubini);
– Multitasking – Public Space 4 Public Art (2008, with Z.Đukanović & A. Bobic);– Art in Public Space (2011, with Đukanović, Bobić, Vuković, and Đerić);
– The Art of Wine (2015, with Z. Đukanović).
