Franco Tondi Graduated in European languages and cultures, he obtained a PhD in English and Anglo-American Studies at the University of Catania. He wrote a doctoral thesis on the lexical influence of German on the English language. He dealt with the so-called “Americanization” of the English language (and also the inverse phenomenon, called “Briticization”), demonstrating the lexical, phonological, graphemic and grammatical influence of American English on two other varieties of the English language: British English and Australian English. More recently he has carried out a research on the Hispanic community and later on the Asian ethnicity residing in the United States.
