Silvia Neposteri, in 2010, achieved a Master’s Degree in History and Historical Documentation at Università degli Studi di Milano, led by Stefano Allovio with a thesis on the south-eastern Malagasy group of Antemoro.
Directed by Ugo Fabietti, she obtained a second Master’s Degree in Anthropological and Ethnological Sciences at Università degli Studi di Milano “Bicocca”, with a thesis on the social role of writing in the antemoro context. Currently, she is Phd student in African and Asian History at Università di Pavia, in co-tutorship with the E.D. 265 of INALCO (Paris).
Supervised by Massimo Zaccaria and Narivelo Rajaonarimanana, she’s working on the relationship between history, memory, identity and power in arabico-malagasy written tradition. Since 2009, she spent several periods of field research in Madagascar, especially in the south-eastern cost region of low Matitanana and in Antananarivo. Her research interests concern historical, social, cultural and political anthropology.
